WM Recycle America LLC said all seven of its eCycling facilities have earned certification to the e-Stewards standard for electronic equipment recycling.

The certification program, established by the Basel Action Network, requires that participating companies implement an environmental, health and safety management system that tracks materials and helps reduce emissions and worker exposure during electronics recycling operations.

WM Recycle America is a subsidiary of the Houston-based Waste Management Inc.

"We see eCycling as a fundamental service, and e-Stewards certification is independent validation of our commitment to responsible eCycling,” said Pat DeRueda, president of WM Recycle America, in a news release.
