A new food waste drop-off program has launched in 15 locations around Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
The new program comes thanks to a partnership between the city of Winnipeg and Green Action Center’s social enterprise, Compost Winnipeg. Residents can now bring their compostable food waste to drop-off stations around the city. The program includes $65,000 in financial incentives for compost grants, which will be administered by Winnipeg’s public service, and will be renewed annually until there is a city-wide green cart program.
