The report highlights ways manufacturing, retail and wholesale, and restaurant sectors are recycling and repurposing food waste. (Full Waste360 article here.)
With Thanksgiving just a few days away, we’ll be eating large amounts of delicious food with loved ones (leftovers for weeks!). It’s a good time to reflect on the bounty of our food supply, consider how much food is currently wasted in this country and what the future of food waste looks like.
We break that out in this slideshow with some food waste facts. All data was provided by our partner, the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF).
Food waste will be a large focus at WasteExpo 2018. We will once again be delivering a Food Recovery Forum that will focus on reducing food waste in the U.S. and recovering inedible food residuals for beneficial reuse. Be sure to bookmark WasteExpo.com and stay tuned for the full agenda.
