Residents in the Scottish Borders experienced a missed pick-up of their food waste this week, which is being blamed on a staffing shortage.
The staff shortage disrupted food waste collections in several areas, including South Port, Loanside, Ladylands, all of Jedburgh, and others.
“Residents and trade waste customers are advised to remove their bin from the collection point and represent it on the next scheduled collection day,” said a Scottish Borders Council spokesperson.
“If residents do not have enough space in their food bins, in this instance unfortunately, any excess food waste will have to be placed in the general waste bin.”
