Johnson County, Ind. Awards Building Contract for $2.5 Million Recycling Center

Johnson County, Ind. is setting up a new $2.5 million recycling center, looking to be completed by the second quarter of next year.

Johnson County, Ind. is setting up a new $2.5 million recycling center, looking to be completed by the second quarter of next year.

The Johnson County Solid Waste Management District Board awarded the construction big to Runnebohm Construction Co. last month, which will take on the task of building the new 10,000 square foot facility.

The current recycling center is a drive through center that needs some work, according to Jessie Biggerman, executive director of the Johnson Country Recycling District.

“Anybody who’s gone through there knows that there’s some quirks to it, and so we have had on the table for quite some time the desire to build a facility that would incorporate all of our needs,” Biggerman said.
