The Atlanta-based Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) has announced the winners of its 2007 Recycling Leadership Awards, which include the city of Los Angeles; New Brunswick, Canada-based COGERNO; Hennepin County, Minn.; Montgomery County, Md.; the city of Austin, Texas; and the Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune in N.C. The winners are recognized for their efforts with the RBRC Call2Recycle program.

“Call2Recycle’s success is very closely related to the success of our community and public recycling partners,” said Linda Gabor, director of marketing and media relations for RBRC, in a press release. “RBRC is proud to recognize several outstanding programs that have made significant contributions to the growth of the program. We hope that participation among these groups continues to increase and that more local programs will engage their communities through outreach and education on the importance of rechargeable battery and cell phone recycling in helping to protect our environment.”
