Sanitation Worker Helps Save Lives in Car Accident
The driver of the garbage truck made a quick decision to veer into the median to avoid smashing into other abruptly stopped cars.

Yesterday morning, a car made a sharp turn and cut off traffic on Route 33 South in Stockertown, Pa., causing at least two cars to crash into a garbage truck. But, thankfully for other drivers on the road, the driver of the garbage truck made a quick decision to veer into the median to avoid smashing into other abruptly stopped cars. That quick decision caused the truck to roll over and the garbage truck driver to suffer a cut arm and head injury while the other drivers walked away unharmed.

Sarah Johnson was on her way to work when she saw a driver make a sharp turn and cut off traffic on Route 33.
At least two cars crashed into a trash truck, but it could have been worse had the trash truck not veered into the median to avoid abruptly stopped cars.
"I feel so grateful that he made that decision," said Johnson, a French teacher at Northeast Middle School in the Bethlehem Area School District. She commutes from the Brodheadsville section of Monroe County.
