U.S. Coast Guard Breaks Ground for Landfill GTE Facility

The U.S. Coast Guard has announced a ceremony to break ground for its landfill gas co-generation plant in Baltimore, Md. The ceremony is today at 9 a.m. at the U.S. Coast Guard Lot 24.

The facility will use methane gas from the city-owned Quarantine Road Landfill to produce electricity and steam for the shipyard for the next 20 years. It is the first such facility in the state of Maryland.
