  • The Solid Waste Association of North America, Silver Spring, Md., and Veolia Environmental Services North America, Lombard, Ill., have joined the Chicago Climate Exchange.

  • SCS Engineers, Long Beach, Calif., acquired Las Vegas-based Environmental Health Services.

  • RecycleBank, Philadelphia, announced that both George Lock and Son Waste Removal and Opdenaker Trash Removal now offer RecycleBank services to their customers.

  • Allied Waste, Phoenix, announced the opening of landfill gas-to-energy facilities located at the Brunswick County Landfill in Lawrenceville, Va., and the King & Queen County Landfill in Little Plymouth, Va. Richmond, Va.-based Ingenco developed both projects, and owns and operates the Lawrenceville facility.

  • The city of Dallas launched a green initiative Web site, www.GreenDallas.net. The site offers visitors tips on how to save energy and water, recycle, clean the air and have a “green” home and lawn.
