Waste Pro Receives Several Complaints from New Customers
Several Florida residents have reported missed pickups since becoming Waste Pro customers.
Waste Pro USA, a Longwood, Fla.-based private hauler, has been the subject of many resident complaints since assuming hauling services for roughly 13,500 new customers in Navarre, Fla.
Since taking on the new customers on January 1, the company has received multiple complaints regarding missed pickups and difficulty reaching company representatives.
Ron Pecora, senior vice president of Waste Pro, explained in a statement that holidays and inclement weather have caused complications in the initial collection, but the company hopes to smooth everything out soon.
Pensacola News Journal has more information:
Social media websites devoted to Navarre have been full of complaints about Waste Pro's service for garbage, recycling and yard waste since it took over for Waste Management after the latter did not renew its contract with the county.
"I just saw one of those mystery Waste Pro trucks driving down 98," one man wrote on Facebook page Concerned Citizens of Navarre-Exiled. "About every 20 (feet) some trash would fly out the top. So if you ever need to find your truck, follow the line of trash. At the end of it will be a Waste Pro truck."
Waste Pro, which also services approximately 8,000 customers in the Gulf Breeze area, said the problems are being addressed, including adding additional staff to field customer calls.
