Black Hills Environmental Buys South Dakota Landfill

Black Hills Environmental Partner LLC has acquired a landfill in Box Elder, S.D., for an undisclosed amount.

The Rapid City, S.D.- based Black Hills said in a news release it purchased the Sun-Land Industries Type IIA restricted use landfill in Box Elder. The landfill is permitted for 90 acres contained in a buffer of more than 200 acres.

The landfill primarily serves Meade and Pennington counties.

The landfill will accept construction and demolition (C&D) debris, concrete, brick, rock, fill dirt, tree branches, wood shingles, furniture, mattresses and carpet. It also will accept for recycling clean cardboard, metal, white goods and yard waste for composting.
