The Ohio EPA has granted the final permit required to open a new landfill in Columbia County.

Vogel Holdings and West Point Renewables can convert a Madison Township transfer station into a solid waste landfill. The EPA states that the 55-acre landfill can only take up to 4,000 pounds of daily waste. Additionally, the location needs to be 1,000 feet from natural areas and 1,000 feet from homes.
