The Cahaba Riverkeeper says discharge recently collected near the Moodly landfill site contain high levels of PFAS.
While the Alabama Department of Environmental Management tested surface water samples, they did not test actual discharge levels, according to news reports. The Cahaba River is a source of drinking water for "hundreds of thousands" of Alabama residents.
