Queen Anne's County, Maryland, is considering the development of a new regional landfill in Centreville in conjunction with Talbot, Caroline, and Kent counties.
Ridgely, the current landfill accepting county waste, will reach its capacity by 2030. The proposal has raised concerns among local residents in the Shrewsbury Farm area who believe the location is unsuitable due to its proximity to a residential area.
The issue is under discussion, with a community meeting planned for public comment.
