Advanced Disposal has purchased waste hauler Tatum Sanitation, expanding its presence in north Georgia.

The Ponte Vedra, Fla.-based Advanced Disposal acquired the assets of Tatum, based in Canton, Ga., for an undisclosed amount. The purchase includes vehicles and residential customers in Georgia’s Cherokee County, according to a news release.

Advanced Disposal said the new acquisitions will operate out of its existing Atlanta North facility.

“This acquisition strengthens our existing North Georgia footprint, and we look forward to providing Tatum Sanitation’s customers with continued customer care-focused and environmentally sound service,” said Charlie Gray, region vice president for Advanced Disposal.

Georgia has been one of the targets for the company as it has continued its steady acquisition strategy. In late December it purchased two other waste and recycling haulers–Webb Waste Inc. of Macon, Ga., and Ball Ground, Ga.-based AC Sanitation, Inc. From Webb it obtained front-end loading and roll-off commercial customers in Georgia’s Bibb County. Advanced Disposal’s purchase of AC Sanitation includes commercial and residential customers in Georgia’s Cherokee County.

The Tatum deal is the second purchase of the year for Advanced Disposal. In January it acquired waste hauler FDS Disposal LLC, based in Lecanto, Fla., for an undisclosed amount. The purchase included a hauling facility, and commercial and residential customers in Florida’s Citrus County. The acquisition strengthens Advanced Disposal’s existing Florida footprint, Gray said at the time.

Meanwhile, Advanced Disposal launched its initial public offering (IPO) of more than 21 million shares of its common stock. It made the offering at the beginning of February of 21,428,571 common shares, with the company offering 9,037,033 of the shares and the selling stockholder 12, 391,538 shares. The New York Stock Exchange has approved Advanced Disposal’s common stock for listing under the ticker symbol “ADSW.”
