The global financial services company Citi is aiming to reduce the amount of waste it sends to landfills by 40 percent by 2015. The firm, in its annual Global Citizenship Report, also announced other environmental goals, such as reducing water usage by 20 percent and its greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent — both by the year 2015.

“Our ties to community are strong — as is our commitment to running our business in a manner that puts the customer first, values employees, supports communities, fosters diversity and inclusion, protects the environment and ensures our business activities are consistent with these values,” said Citi CEO Vikram Pandit in a press release.
