In 2009, the MillerCoors beer company reduced the amount of waste that it sent to landfills by 20 percent, according to the firm’s 2010 sustainable development report. The company also announced that its Trenton, Ohio, and Elkton, Va., breweries achieved zero waste last year.
“Surpassing our 2015 waste reduction goal five years early is a phenomenal success that demonstrates the commitment and passion of MillerCoors people across all of our brewery operations,” said Cornell Boggs, MillerCoors’ chief responsibility and ethics officer, in a statement. “We recognize that sustainable development requires a sustained commitment and we're working to further improve our performance for generations to come.”
