The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) has announced a partnership with the Shelly Co., Thornville, Ohio, for a development that will create approximately 350 jobs. The agreement will enable the construction of an industrial park and expand Shelly’s mining opportunities. The park will be built on land that is owned by SWACO and is adjacent to the former Columbus waste-to-energy facility.
According to the agreement, Shelly will be required to fill 10 acres of unusable land for development and pay SWACO an estimated $1.5 million in mineral rites for rock mined on the property.
