Los Angeles 2028 Olympics to Require Public Transportation in Sustainable Game Efforts

Following the sustainability push of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Los Angeles games will look to keep that push alive with a “no car” games.

Following the sustainability push of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Los Angeles games will look to keep that push alive with a “no car” games.

The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will use existing venues around the city to keep costs down, since most of the current venues are suitable for the games. With most of the games being so close-knit, the city will put together plans to make using public transportation a requirement of attending any event.

“We’re already working to create jobs by expanding our public transportation system in order for us to have a no-car Games. That’s a feat in Los Angeles – we’ve always been in love with our cars. But we’re already working to ensure we can build a greener Los Angeles,” said Mayor Karen Bass.

“No-car Games means that you will have to take public transportation to get to all the venues. In order to do that, we have been building out our transportation system.”
