Man Dies After Being Crushed by a Compactor at a Transfer Station in Idaho

Delfino “Pep” Martinez, an employee at Southern Idaho Solid Waste’s Twin Falls transfer station, died after being crushed by a Magic Valley Disposal truck compactor.

Delfino “Pep” Martinez, a 53-year-old employee at Southern Idaho Solid Waste’s Twin Falls transfer station, died on Wednesday after being crushed by a Magic Valley Disposal truck compactor.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene at 1:30 p.m. MT and first responders reported the incident as a “code black,” which is police scanner code for a death.

A Twin Falls man was crushed to death Wednesday while unloading trash from his company truck at Southern Idaho Solid Waste’s Twin Falls transfer station.

Delfino “Pep” Martinez, 53, was at the transfer station unloading a Magic Valley Disposal truck when he got trapped by the truck’s compactor and killed, Twin Falls County Coroner Gene Turley said.
