Tim Dolan is regional vice president, Central/North Florida for the Longwood, Fla.–based Waste Pro USA Inc.

A Fort Lauderdale native, Dolan is responsible for operations in one of Waste Pro’s most successful and profitable regions, which runs from central Florida to northern Florida up to the Georgia state line. The region is home to Waste Pro’s newest compressed natural gas (CNG) facility in Bunnell, and soon will include a new regional facility in Jacksonville that the company is opening.

Dolan’s garbage career started when he was 15, working summers. He’s served in the waste industry for more than 30 years, including 10 with Waste Pro. He began with the company as division manager of Orlando. He’s a graduate of North Carolina State with a bachelor’s degree in history. A resident of Longwood, Tim serves on the Seminole State College Foundation board of directors and is a member of the Private Business Association of Seminole Inc. He also participates in numerous community organizations and events.

What is your pet peeve?

People who make excuses instead of taking responsibility for their actions.

What is your idea of the perfect day?   

Sun shining. No down trucks. Everyone shows up to work. No missed pickups.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?   

Don’t assume anything.

What was the last book you read?  

The Tao of Pooh.

What is your favorite movie?   

Lord of the Rings.

What is your favorite TV show?  

Any show to do with history.

Beatles or Rolling Stones? 

Beatles.

What is the strangest piece of trash you’ve ever come across?  

An arm.

Do you prefer the beach or mountains?  

Mountains.

Besides your family and friends, what is the one thing you couldn’t live without? 

Coffee.

If you could invite three people — living, dead or fictional — to a dinner party, who would they be? 

Jesus, Buddha and Confucius.

If you weren’t serving in your current role, what would you like to be? 

A diplomat.

What is your favorite sports team?  

The New York Yankees.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?   

Mind reading.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done? 

I went to the Middle East for an archaeological dig.

What’s the one talent you have that not many people know about?

Shooting pool.
