Raptor Recycle Enters Proposed Landfill Conversations in Raymore, Mo.

The owner of Raptor Recycle and Transfer has proposed a waste diversion method in lieu of a proposed landfill in Raymore, Mo.

Kit Starr says his company has the capacity to handle "thousands" of tons of trash. Officials in Grandview and Lee's Summit have vigorously opposed a 960-acre site.

Raptor's process involves dumping trash into larger semi trucks for transfer. Starr says another landfill is not needed near residential neighborhoods when businesses such as his could handle collection and transfer.
