Waste Pro USA has appointed Chris Ciaccio as chief operating officer.

Ciaccio has more than 17 years of solid waste industry experience. He joined the Longwood, Fla.-based waste and recycling firm in 2011 and has served as its chief information officer, Waste Pro said in a news release.

In his waste industry experience Ciaccio has worked in various aspects of the business. Prior to joining Waste Pro he was director of operations and business development for Chicago-based Veolia Environmental Services, where he helped with their acquisition program by implementing an industry database and acquisition tracking program.

Also with Veolia, while serving as the region manager for the Southern Region, Ciaccio was instrumental in increasing its earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) by $13 million in a three-year period.

Waste Pro operates in eight southeastern states with more than 2 million customers served from more than 70 operating locations.
