Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful Opens Monthly Recycling Center for Electronics, Hard-to-Recycle Materials

A new recycling center has opened in South Beloit, Ill., and will accept electronics and other hard-to-recycle materials once a month.

A new recycling center has opened in South Beloit, Ill., and will accept electronics and other hard-to-recycle materials once a month.

Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful (KNIB) opened the South Beloit Recycle Center last week. The center will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of every month. Residents can recycle TVs, monitors, electronics, appliances, metals, and textiles.

“This is an awesome site, and it’s the Public Works Department, and it’s still under an overhang so we still have protection from weather,” says Pamela Osborne, Executive Director of KNIB.

“We send out about 18,000 lbs a month for electronics.”
