Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Facility Celebrates Grand Opening in Poland

Zawiercie, Poland has just opened its newest lithium-ion battery recycling facility, operated by AE Elemental.

The new facility, a joint venture between Ascend Elements and Elemental Strategic Metals, celebrated its grand opening recently. The facility can process 12,000 metric tons of used lithium-ion batteries per year, making it one of Europe's largest battery recycling facilities.

“We have come significantly closer to becoming a global leader in the market of recycling materials necessary to produce EV batteries,” said Michał Zygmunt, CEO of Elemental Strategic Metals, highlighting the company’s contribution of a state-of-the-art industrial downstream processing facility and an extensive network of waste collection points across Europe.
