Recycling cans and bottles pays off in the long run with our environment, but for one Michigan family, it paid off in a big way financially.
Three family members in Michigan have their own lottery club and they have been playing for more than 30 years. To buy their lottery tickets, they would use money they earned through recycling their excess bottles and cans.
Finally, after 30 years of recycling and playing, the club had a winning ticket, matching all five white balls except for the Mega Ball.
“Everyone in our club agrees that winning is a huge blessing, and it still hasn’t fully sunk in for the club members yet,” said the club’s representative, Kenneth Baran.
