Mountaineering expedition organizers in Nepal are supplying Mount Everest climbers with trash bags to collect waste during their expeditions. The trash bags, which can hold up to 176 pounds of waste each, will be transported from the mountain to the base camp via helicopter.

Dambar Parajuli of the Expedition Operators Association of Nepal said Wednesday that bags have already been sent to the base camp to be carried by climbers, guides and porters to higher elevations.
