SCS Engineers has been hired by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to conduct a waste audit in Cedar Falls, Iowa. SCS is looking at 64 categories of waste and recyclables to help determine where residents and businesses are falling short when it comes to recycling efforts.

After the waste audit is complete, SCS will produce Cedar Falls with a waste composition profile for its residential and institutional commercial and industrial waste. This profile will help Cedar Falls determine where it needs to make changes, such as potentially banning some recyclables from the city’s transfer station.
