Lincoln, Neb. is seeking proposals for qualified firms to finance, design, build, own, operate, and maintain a landfill gas to renewable natural gas project at the city’s Bluff Road Landfill.

Lincoln, Neb. is seeking proposals for qualified firms to finance, design, build, own, operate, and maintain a landfill gas to renewable natural gas project at the city’s Bluff Road Landfill.

The landfill is owned and operated by the City of Lincoln and features a design capacity of 25.2 million cubic yards over a permitted waste disposal area of roughly 171 acres. The city estimates the landfill with be able to accept waste through 2033 with its current intake rate of 850 tons per day of municipal solid waste.

Currently, the landfill’s gas collection and control system delivers gas to Lincoln Energy System’s Terry Bundy Generating Station to produce electricity.
