Bush Bombs Environmentalists' Test

Washington, D.C. -- The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) announced that President George W. Bush received an "F" on the organization’s 2003 Report Card for the administration’s performance on environmental issues. The LCV calculated the grade based on appointments, administrative and executive actions, and legislative initiatives.

LCV President Deb Callahan said Bush favors corporate interest over the health of America’s land, air, water and wildlife. "Corporate polluters have been allowed to write the laws," she said in a statement to the press, adding that the president’s proposed regulatory changes to New Source Review increase the emission of pollutants. The LCV, a nonpartisan group, periodically issues a report card for every president.
