Calif Cities to Fight Gasification Plans

Alameda, Calif. -– Alameda, Oakland and San Leandro residents and other local health and environmental groups will hold a press conference Dec. 18, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Alameda City Hall to voice their opposition to a proposed waste-to-energy plant that the Alameda Power and Telecom (AP&is considering building. AP&officials are considering a garbage gasification plant project, which eventually may be considered as one energy generation option for the area.
