EIA Awarded Contract to Manage OSHA Training Grant

The Washington, D.C.-based Environmental Industry Association (EIA) was awarded the contract to manage the Environmental Research and Education Foundation’s (EREF) fifth training grant from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Alexandria, Va.-based EREF has contracted with EIA for its solid waste industry experience since receiving its first Susan Harwood Training Grant in October 2000.
Under the agreement, a training video will be developed over the next year to instruct solid waste workers on how to reduce fatalities and serious injuries at landfills and disposal facilities. During WasteExpo 2005, EIA will hold an educational session on reducing fatalities where it will show the show the video and distribute related educational materials.
