EPA Counselor Resigns

Washington, D.C. -- Robert E. Fabricant, general counsel for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has submitted his resignation to President Bush. Fabricant will leave the EPA Sept. 3. He served administrator Christine Whitman for the past two years and has been praised for his defense of air-quality and ozone standards. Fabricant also served Whitman during her post as governor of New Jersey.
