Fort Worth, Texas -- The city is implementing a new garbage and recycling program this week. Residents are being given wheeled carts and strict guidelines to follow to ensure trash is properly placed on the curb, according to the city. According to the Environmental Management Department, trash that is not bagged and placed inside the brown cart with lids completely shut will not be picked up. Recyclable material should be placed unbagged in the blue cart. Garbage and yard waste should be placed next to the carts in double-ply paper bags with bundles of branches no more than 4 feet long. Also, residents’ collection has changed from twice per week to once per week.
