Gov. Davis Receives Recycling Award

Sacramento, Calif. -- Gov. Gray Davis of California has received the Recycling Leader of the Year Award from Californians Against Waste (CAW). In the midst of a gubernatorial snafu, CAW Executive Director Mark Murray praised Davis’ legislative history and appointments, citing specifically the governor’s expansion of the bottle bill and several other state, local and school-based recycling programs. Murray also noted Davis’ approval of Senate Bill 20, a producer-responsibility e-waste bill that has passed the senate is currently in the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
