Residents Fear Trash Will Linger Too Long on Curb

New York -- City officials have announced a plan to cut trash pickups in Queens, Staten Island, and parts of Brooklyn and the Bronx from twice per week to once per week. Officials estimate that losing a day of pickups will save $12 million per year. The plan could take effect by July 1.
