Following are major permits and actions completed by the Mesquite Regional Landfill: * Unanimous approval from Imperial County Board of Supervisors. (September 1995)

* Unanimous approval from California Regional Water Quality Control Board. (November 1995)

* All local cities include Mesquite in their waste management plans. (December 1995)

* Biological Opinion issued by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. (November 1995)

* Consultation completed by California State Historic Preservation Office. (January 1996)

* Land exchange completed with U.S. Bureau of Land Management (January 1997) after challenge rejected by Appeals Board. (November, 1996) and U.S. District Court (January 1997)

* California Integrated Waste Management Board approves solid waste facilities permit, first in California for regional waste-by-rail landfill. (March 1997)

* Superior Court upholds Imperial County approvals on operating permits, environmental review process; denies legal fees to project opponents. (April 1997)

* Imperial County Air Pollution Control District approves air quality permit. (November 1998)
