  • Advanced Disposal Services, Jacksonville, Fla., acquired hauling, recycling and landfill operations in Jacksonville from Waste Services for $57.5 million.

  • The National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA), selected MPRI, Alexandria, Va., to provide simulator services at the upcoming NSWMA driver training sessions that will be held in 12 cities across the country.

  • Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC), Atlanta, announced Sony will expand its role in the RBRC Call2Recycle program and include a collection bag with custom Sony VAIO laptop computers.

  • The Veolia Environmental Services (ES) North America, Lombard, Ill., facility in Philadelphia was accepted into the Occupational Safety and Health Association Voluntary Protection Program.
