The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has announced the winners of its 2009 Professional Achievement Awards. The winners will be recognized during WASTECON 2009. The winners are: Professional Achievement Award — Public Member: Russell Reiserer, solid waste manager for the city of Palo Alto, Calif.; Life Member Award: Patrick Holland, retired executive director of Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District, Cleveland; and Life Member Award: Robert P. Stearns, chairman and founding principal of SCS Engineers, Long Beach, Calif.
