RenuEn Corp. is building a landfill gas to energy project in St. Cloud, Fla.

The energy development company, also based in St. Cloud, said in a news release that it has selected ERC General Contracting Services Inc., Winter Garden, Fla., to construct the St. Cloud Landfill Project. ERC specializes in landfill construction, closure and wastewater treatment plants.

Earlier, RenuEn received approval of the permit from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

"ERC has a 20-year history of successfully constructing and working on landfills throughout Florida, giving us the confidence that the project will be built expeditiously and producing gas in a very short period of time,” said Don Wood, RenuEn CEO.

The company’s goal is for the operation to be fully operational by the end of the second quarter.
