Take It Back
Sony Electronics introduced the GreenFill recycling service, which allows consumers to recycle small electronics — including cameras, portable music devices, small laptops, cell phones and portable gaming devices — using a drop box at participating retail locations. The San Diego-based company will accept any approved devices, regardless of brand. At launch, 81 retail stores will host the drop boxes, though the company says it expects to add locations quickly.
“Sony's GreenFill program is providing consumers with a convenient, sustainable solution for recycling small electronic products,” said Mike Fasulo, executive vice president of Sony Electronics with management oversight for the company's corporate social responsibility initiatives, in a press release. “We are continuing our commitment to reach our goal of recycling one pound of old consumer electronics equipment for every pound of new products sold.”
