Advanced Disposal Services to Speak with Jupiter, Fla., Officials on December 14
Advanced Disposal will be given the chance to discuss its recent bid protest with town officials on December 14.
Earlier this month, the Town of Jupiter, Fla., chose to keep its current waste hauler Waste Management. And following that decision, Advanced Disposal Services filed a bid protest against the town, asking it to void its contract with Waste Management and award the contract to Advanced Disposal.
Advanced Disposal will be given the chance to discuss the $25 million trash contract with town officials on December 14.
PalmBeachPost has more details:
Advanced Disposal officials on Wednesday, Dec. 14 will try to convince the Jupiter town council officials that their company, not Waste Disposal Inc., should get the $25 million trash contract in Jupiter.
No public comment will be allowed at the 7 p.m. meeting is because the council vote “is in the nature of an appellate argument,” according to town attorney Tom Baird.
The Jupiter planning staff recommended hiring Advanced Disposal, with one of the main factors that town residents would pay about $1 million less annually — an annual savings of about $50 per residence.
