FCC Environmental Services to Build Second MRF in Texas

FCC Environmental Services, the U.S. subsidiary of FCC Group, is building a second materials recovery facility (MRF) in Texas. Last year, the company completed its Dallas MRF, which can handle more than 40 tons per hour of single stream material, and now its gearing up to build a MRF in the city of Houston.

The new MRF will be outfitted with a glass cleanup system and an elliptical separator to screen out film plastics. These pieces of equipment, provided by VAN DYK Recycling Solutions, will help turn glass and film into sellable commodities. The facility will also contain additional optical sorters to maximize fiber quality and automatically recover film plastics.

The Houston MRF is expected to be complete in spring 2019.
