New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg took some gentle ribbing last summer after introducing “Dumpster pools,” a repurposing of the disposal containers to help New Yorkers cool off. Now San Francisco is following suit with the introduction of “parkmobiles” — essentially modified roll-off containers filled with greenery and fitted with a long bench. The idea is to add portable greenspace to areas of the city that might not otherwise be able to accomodate it.
A great idea, but where are lunching officeworkers supposed to put their trash?
