According to a CTFN report, GFL Environmental is expected to begin selling its environmental services unit this week due to interest from strategic and private equity firms.

The unit has been estimated to be between $6.5 billion and $7 billion by private equity bidders, as mentioned in the initial report. The report mentions the unit has seen interest for the entire business, with GFL also receiving a C$2 billion offer for a 30% stake in the division.

Republic Services, Waste Connections, and Casella Waste Systems have been named as potential strategic buyers. The report mentions that bids for the environmental services businesses are due by the third week of October.
