Republic Services has launched its annual “101 Days of Summer” safety program. The campaign is set to conclude on Labor Day.

Under the program, each division within the company develops its own safety goals and initiatives for the summer. “Driving a garbage truck is a very physically and mentally demanding job[,] and we are compelled to do everything we can to protect the health and welfare of both our employees and the people we serve,” said Jim Olson, vice president of safety at Republic, in a press release.
