There was a bit of glamour amid the garbage in February as a film crew descended upon the Plant Atkinson Transfer Station in Smyrna, Ga., to shoot another installment in the “Be Proud, Be Safe” campaign, a series of short safety videos produced by the National Solid Waste Management Association and funded by OSHA grants.
The latest 20-minute film in the series depicts safety issues encountered at transfer stations. Previous films focused on residential collection and landfills. Primary filming for the video was completed in less than a week.
NSWMA will premiere the film on April 6 at WasteExpo. To obtain a copy, visit www.nswma.org.
