#5 - Fort Collins, Colo. Revamps Hauling System Aiming to Boost Recycling and Organics Recovery
Colorado’s City of Fort Collins, which has long had an open market waste and recycling system, just introduced a single-hauler program and onboarded Republic Services as its vendor. Fort Collins has leveraged policy to try and go further, requiring new construction and remodels to plan for trash and recycling. Commercial property owners are encouraged to establish design guidelines to accommodate food scrap collections for high organics-generating tenants.

The documents address key aspects of EPR policy for products and packaging, with an emphasis on the role of EPR in supporting recycling and reuse systems, promoting safety, and enhancing recycling infrastructure and education.
#3 - AG Kaul Imposes $90,000 Fine for Alleged Hazardous Waste Violations in Ozaukee County
Attorney General Josh Kaul announced that his office obtained a stipulated civil judgment against Dielectric Materials, Inc., requiring it to pay a $90,000 monetary penalty for alleged violations of the State’s hazardous waste management laws at its Ozaukee County facility where it formulated certain powders used to make ceramic capacitors. The settlement was approved by the Ozaukee County Circuit Court on October 8, 2024.
#2 - Frontier Waste Solutions Expands with Four New Municipal Partnerships
Frontier Waste Solutions ("Frontier") proudly announces its selection as the exclusive provider of solid waste and recycling services for the cities of McKinney, Balcones Heights, Fair Oaks Ranch, and Tomball. With operations commencing on October 1, Frontier has added 57 new collection routes, now serving an additional 68,000 homes and 2,500 businesses across these communities.
