Announcements

  • Wastequip, Cleveland, has acquired Pioneer Cover-All, a manufacturer of tarping systems. Wastequip will keep the Pioneer brand name, and Pioneer's Lenny Brescia will be named president.

  • Mid America Recycling Company, Des Moines, Iowa, has announced the purchase of Waste Management Recycle America's paper recovery facility located in Fort Worth, Texas.

  • The Delaware Solid Waste Management Authority held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in July for a new transfer station, which is expected to open in early August. The site is permitted to accept 500 tons of solid waste per day.

  • Sloatsburg, N.Y.-based Interstate Waste Services Holding Co. Inc. has opened a transfer station in Jersey City, N.J., which can accept up to 1,700 tons of municipal solid waste per day.
