This week, Cleanaway Waste Management announced that it has agreed to acquire Citywide Waste for $110 million.

Citywide Waste is the waste and recycling business area of Citywide Service Solutions. Cleanaway has, as part of the deal, signed a 35-year lease for the waste transfer station on Dynon Road in West Melbourne, Australia, the second largest station in Victoria.

“This transaction represents an attractive opportunity to expand our Solid Waste Services business in metropolitan Melbourne,” said Cleanaway CEO & Managing Director Mark Schubert.

“Integrating Citywide Waste into our network is expected to deliver valuable efficiencies while facilitating growth through the broadening of our municipal and C&I collections capabilities.”

Currently, Citywide Waste serves roughly 1,5000 municipal, commercial, and industrial customers in Melbourne and processes over 200,00 tonnes of waste and recycling materials annually.
